Slide & Splash was inaugurated in June 1986 and is situated in Lagoa. It is considered to be the biggest of its kind in the country, and one of the biggest and the best in Europe. It offers 25,000 square meters of lawn where you can have a rest, play games or enjoy sunbathing. For water fun Slide & Splash offers various types of slides, from very easy ones up to the exciting ones like Kamikaze, torrents, the Black Hole, which is the only one of its kind in Portugal and the prominent attraction for most of our visitors. We have a Jacuzzi, a pool for children with an area of 1,500 square meters, where kids from 5 to 10 years will find lots of toys. Apart from that, there is a swimming pool with an area of 1,600 square meters - one of the biggest in the country.
Splash & Slide Useful Tip: There can be queues for refreshments in the busy season. You can take picnic coolers into the park.

 

Zoo Marine is a fascinating and educational oceanographic park designed to provide the best in leisure entertainment while upholding the Algarve’s traditional ties with the sea. The whole family can spend a fascinating day filled with dolphins, seals, sharks, turtles, exotic and marine birds, crocodiles and tropical fish. Zoo Marine is unique in Portugal for its features and for the exceptional quality of its shows and exhibitions. Zoo Marine Useful Tip: It is possible to join the dolphins in the water for a 'Dolphin Experience', but you must pre book.
 
Aqua Land is another water park with large slides for the more daring amongst you. It has some smaller children’s slides along with a wave pool which is excellent fun for all! There is of course eating areas along with a coffee bar, gift shop, toilets and showers. There are lots of grassy areas so it is a good place for a picnic.
Useful Tip:
 
   Zoological Park is a lovely place with lots of shady areas to sit and watch the animals. There are two small lakes with small islands in the middle. Here you can view the different types of monkeys in a very natural environment. As well as the large variety of birds there is also a small farm with pigs, goats, horses etc. There are two restaurants/coffee bars with shady areas close to the lakes as well as playground facilities for the younger children. It is situated to the north west of Lagos and takes approximately 1 hour from Oura along the A22 going west.
Zoological Park Useful Tip:
 
 Go Karting Situated near to Almancil approximately 25 minutes heading towards Faro on the N125. There are facilities for adults as well as a smaller track for the younger children. Various other entertainment such as radio controlled racing cars and amusements.

   Silves  where you can wander around the narrow streets and look around the castle in this lovely quaint old town. Whilst you are there visit the fabrica do Ingles, which is an old cork factory with a museum showing the various stages of the industry. There are a number of restaurants here and at night a waterfall light show is well worth the wait.

   Monchique is for when you feel like a change from the beach, a trip to historic town is worth the 45 minute drive from Praia da Oura. Head for Portimao taking the turn off where signed. If the weather is clear, the views are fantastic. Wander around the cobble streets of Monchique town and then drive on up to Foia, which is 906m above sea level. Stop somewhere for a simple lunch, chicken piripiri is always good. On the way down visit Caldos Monchique, which is a natural spa. There are fonts where you can fill up a bottle or two!
 Monchique Useful Tip:
 
  Portimao. Here you can take a boat trip to visit the caves and spot the dolphins swimming wild. Alternatively it is possible to hire a local fisherman with a boat for a trip along the coast and also go game fishing from the quay. Or you can enjoy a stroll along the harbor leading you to a beautiful park where you can enjoy an ice cream and watch the world go by. Portimao is famous for its sardine restaurants along the harbor, which is well worth a visit.
